Veterans Day Observance at Blue Star Memorial Marker
11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 11, 2020
The Bar Harbor Garden Club’s annual Veterans Day observance at the Blue Star Memorial Marker — located on Route 3 — will follow the same format as our 2020 Memorial Day observance.

The Wednesday, November 11, 2020 observance will be traditional for its memories and notable for its time in history, as we all continue in the sea of the coronavirus pandemic. The Veterans Day ceremony honoring service men and women will happen in compliance with state Covid-19 health safety guidance for gatherings and an “utmost of caution”.
In lieu of the usual ceremony which is open to the public on Veterans Day, the Bar Harbor Garden Club will leave a weather-proof bin at the Blue Star Memorial Marker site. The public is invited to stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and leave a written thought in the bin reflecting a sentiment appropriate for remembering and honoring our Veterans. The collection will be saved and arranged for viewing at our Memorial Day Ceremony. Also, notes collected during our Memorial Day commemoration will be on display.
Thank you to all for understanding and participating. The traditional wreath will be in place for Veterans Day. Stay Safe and take care of yourselves and each other. Click here for more information about the Blue Star Memorial Program.
The Marker is located 1/3 of a mile from the head of Mount Desert Island on Route 3.
