BAR HARBOR – The St. Croix District of The Garden Club Federation of Maine and Bar Harbor Garden Club is pleased to announce the winner of the prestigious 2024 Nell Goff Memorial Scholarship – Lillian Frank, a rising senior in earth and oceanographic sciences at Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine. To her credit, Ms. Frank was selected for this $3,000 scholarship because of her passion and commitment to mitigating climate change and fostering community engagement for a better world. Her achievements include sailing aboard Maine Maritime Academy’s research schooner Bowdoin to the Arctic and completing a semester of ecological study in Botswana. This talented young person also works as a “raft guide” on the Kennebec River and is actively in pursuit of the “Registered Maine Guide “certification. As an addition to the financial reward for her achievements, the Ellsworth Garden Club, as a member club of the St. Croix District Garden Clubs, will extend a complimentary two-year membership to join their organization.
