— Please join us for a Virtual Zoom Presentation —
Our garden club’s first presentation of fall 2020 is fast approaching! On Thursday, September 10th at 1 p.m., Lucy Quimby and Kathy Pollard will be presenting on the Bangor Land Trust’s (the “Trust”) Edible Landscape Project. Originally to be held at Garland Farm, this presentation will now be held via Zoom.
In September 2019, the Trust announced the Project with the goal of introducing edible permaculture (i.e., plants that don’t need maintenance) to the Trust’s preserves and to increase food sources for wildlife and visitors of the preserves. Walden Parke Preserve and Penjajawoc Preserve are the first to receive plantings.
Lucy Quimby helped to found the Bangor Land Trust in 2001. She is a clinical psychologist in private practice and enjoys sailing, bird watching, walking in the woods, learning about the natural world, and participation in Bangor’s civic life. Kathy Pollard is the owner of Know Your Land Consulting. She is a habitat and permaculture specialist. Kathy studied wildlife ecology at the University of Maine.
This Zoom presentation is open to the public. With a limit of 100 participants, you must reserve a spot by sending an email to president@barharborgardenclub.org by September 8th. You will then receive a link to the September 10th meeting from the bangorlandtrust.org.
