2019 Garden Tour

The Bar Harbor Garden Club invites you to attend their 2019 Garden Tour to view some of the finest gardens on Mount Desert Island on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, rain or shine. This garden tour is a biennial fundraiser that supports a variety of Community Projects, as well as funds college scholarships for Horticulture and Environmental study students.

The public is invited to shop at our outdoor Marketplace located at the Northeast Harbor Marina, on-the-green of Harbor Drive. Here garden tour tickets may be purchased, and twenty vendors and artists will be selling their products and crafts—15% of merchandise sales will be donated to local non-profits. Entrance to this market will NOT require a ticket.

A single tour ticket entitles the holder to enter six beautifully kept gardens, most of which are located on the rocky shores of Northeast Harbor or Southwest Harbor. Also, Northeast Harbor’s Asticou Inn will offer a buffet luncheon for tour participants in their ‘Garden Room’ from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This all-inclusive buffet lunch includes: salads, wraps, quiches, beverage, tax and gratuity.

Beginning in June, garden tour tickets may be purchased in advance for $30 at participating businesses. These ticket outlets will also be selling the Asticou Inn’s Lunch Buffet ticket for $20, which must be purchased along with a garden tour ticket by July 14.

Garden tour tickets sold on the day of the tour will cost $35, and will only be for sale at the Marketplace and included gardens. Brochures will accompany tickets and will include a self-guided tour map and garden descriptions. The tour may be started from any one of the gardens. Dogs and strollers should be left at home. The gardens are not wheel chair accessible. We hope that you will join us!

The mission of the Bar Harbor Garden Club is to promote the love of horticulture, to protect and conserve our natural resources, to provide educational opportunities, to contribute responsibly to civic and environmental needs, and to enjoy the fellowship of our members.
