More people than ever experience digestive problems. Chef Steven Boas from Belfast, Maine, began his career after successfully cooking his way through debilitating digestive problems. Chef Boas studied nutrition in college and graduated with a degree in biochemistry. In college, he never dreamed that this would lead to a successful career helping others, as well as himself, deal with their digestive health issues. Chef Boas devotes a large portion of his time to presentations, classes, and workshops on food and cooking techniques for better digestion.

Chef Boas’ presentation, “Sprouts and Plants for Better Digestive Health,” sponsored by the Bar Harbor Garden Club, will focus on the nutritional and digestive benefits of micro-greens. He will include a general overview of valuable, digestive health concepts and the step-by-step process of sprouting and growing sunflower micro-greens. The talk is scheduled for Thursday, November 9 at 1:00 P.M. at Birch Bay Retirement Village, Bar Harbor.

The talk will include time for questions and will be followed by a club business meeting and light refreshments.  All are welcome to attend.

This presentation is one of the monthly programs offered by the Bar Harbor Garden Club to the public. We do ask club members and guests to make a reservation by emailing Barbara Amstutz at president@barharborgardenclub.org or calling Pam Bowie at 207-244-3436.
