The Bar Harbor Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at GARLAND FARM on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 1 p.m. Parking will be available at 475 Bayview Drive, Bar Harbor.
Please join us for a workshop on designing a small urban garden. This program will be presented by Kristina Beal, an Estate Gardener, Graphic Designer, and Artist. She has worked for fifteen years in large and small gardens in the MDI, Blue Hill, and Sedgwick areas.
Kristina will show you how to incorporate large estate esthetics into a tiny little urban landscape. Topics she will touch on include: urban farming, permaculture, organic gardening and native gardening. She will also talk about how to get a cohesive look and make the garden comfortable, and how to make less work for yourself and design for the seasons.
Please bring the dimensions of your real (or imagined) garden, a pencil, an eraser and a small steel edged ruler. Graph paper will be provided.
This meeting is open to the public, but non-members are asked to call 244-1116 to reserve a seat. Refreshments will be served.
