The Bar Harbor Garden Club (BHGC), a member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine, has announced the State, Regional and National Youth Award winners for projects during 2018.

The National Garden Clubs (NGC) and their affiliate organizations offer educational contests for children at the preschool, elementary, middle and high school levels. Winning Poem

The Ages of Flowers
The seed is in the ground.
The seed needs water and sun.
The seed pops open!
The seed needs more water and sun.
It grows to a stem.
Then the stem grows into a flower.
The flower is closed.
The flower needs more sun and water.
The flower is opening.
It needs more sun and water and love.
The flower is opening to a beautiful flower.
